District 9
In my opinion, this movie is worth every bit of hype it's caused. Go see it! I'm thinking about the visuals days later, where usually I forget movies 20 minutes after leaving the theater.
Agree. I liked it. You have to suspend your sense of disbelief a bit regarding the larger context, but the style was overall very consistent, and the action was surprisingly well done. My one criticism was the character of the colonel (or whoever he was). He was a bit too unreservedly unpleasant.
The theater that I saw it in also smelled really bad, which added to the effect I suppose...
